On the evening of May 7, Apple announced a notice on the developer’s page that all ios developers must submit an updated software which is built by the iOS 11 SDK development tool in July. it must support the iOS 11 operating system and adapt the iPhone X’s Super Retina display.
Apple officials said that with the iOS 11 SDK, applications can provide smarter, unified, and immersive experiences that integrate Core ML, ARKit, new camera APIs, new SiriKit domains, Apple Music integration, and iPad drag-and-drop. Although iOS 11 has more features, it does cause backwardness on older devices.
In fact, this is not the first time that Apple has issued a requirement for developers to adapt to iPhone X. As early as February of this year, Apple had posted a similar message on the developer page, requiring developers to submit an updated version developed by the iOS 11 SDK tool in April to fit iPhone X with Super Retina display.
Some media predict that Apple will release iOS 12, macOS 10.14, watchOS 5 and other operating systems on WWDC 2018, which opened on June 4 this year.
